Business
Sejin Heavy Industries is leaping forward as a key fabricator for the new era of floating offshore wind.
Sejin Heavy Industries is collaborating with the world's leading companies to professionally manufacture floating offshore wind equipment based on its 20 years of experience in manufacturing ultra-large equipment for shipbuilding and offshore plants.
Based on the company’s unique production infrastructure, Sejin Heavy Industries is accelerating its growth as a specialized fabricator in ultra large and modularized wind equipment and onshore and offshore substation (OSS) modules
Floater
Supporting substructures for wind turbines and OSS are classified into ‘fixed’ and ‘floating’ type depending on various conditions such as water depth, etc.
Since the floating offshore wind farms will be situated in the deepest of waters, the major equipment would require floating substructures that can function like a buoy. Sejin Heavy Industries expects to lead this specific market as the company already has experience in shipbuilding and offshore plant fabrication which has similar physical properties and high level of production technology and quality.
Offshore Substation Systems
The Offshore Substation (OSS) is a key facility that converts the power generated in the offshore wind farm to match the grid voltage and transmit the energy to land. Sejin Heavy Industries, which is optimized for manufacturing block-level equipment, has production strengths in manufacturing Topside Modules, which houses key electronic equipment in the substations.
Wind Farm Development
In addition, a project to directly develop and operate an offshore wind farm is in progress.
Through this effort, Sejin Heavy Industries expects to lead in all operations, such as offshore wind farm development, equipment manufacturing, and O&M services.
